On Change

In this moment, it's as if I simultaneously feel everything and nothing at all. Our country is faced with a major change in our political landscape, and for many, it might seem like we will never be able to embrace this change.

But we will have to somehow find a way to accept the reality (at the very least, the reality of how divided our country is). Which is not to say that complacency and inaction are the answer at all. To the contrary, what I mean is that we must keep our eyes open to what is, and has been, happening in our world. And we must find ways to stand up for what we believe in, always being guided by compassion and love – even when it feels impossible.

Change is the only constant, and we all play a role in shaping the change in our world.

There are lessons for us all in what is happening. We have to find them and stay vigilant, continually trying to improve the world for those we love and for those more vulnerable. Because it is the right thing to do. And also because ultimately, we will be impacted too.
