5 Questions to Ask Yourself at Year-End [UPDATED FOR 2020]

If you’ve been following my blog on here, you know that I have a special kind of respect for this time of year. As we go into December, it’s the perfect opportunity to block out some time for yourself to reflect.

I wrote about 5 questions to frame this kind of “mini self-retreat” last year – though that feels like a decade ago now.

Given how this year turned out, I would update my 2019 questions for 2020:

  1. When I think back on this past year, what am I proud of myself for?
➡️ What are the wins that I had – however big or small – despite 2020 being what it was?

  2. What lessons did I learn in 2019?
➡️ How have I grown this past year? What were all the points at which I could've given up, but I kept going instead?

  3. What surprised me from this past year?
➡️ How did I react to events outside of my control this year?

  4. How do I want to feel in 2020?
➡️ How do I want to feel in 2021?

  5. What do I want most when I think about 2020?
➡️ What growth do I want to experience in 2021? What milestones do I want to reach next year?

What questions will you be asking yourself as we move into another calendar year?
